How long is a session?
All standard sessions are seven weeks long. At the end of the year, because of the holidays, we usually have a special short 2-3 week session. Check our calendar for details.

How long is a class?
All classes are 50 mintues long except conformation which is 40 minutes long
When are classes?
All classes are held Tuesday evening starting between 6 and 8 pm. Our current offerings are listed at the Registration site.
How old does my puppy have to be to attend class?
Puppy Class is open to puppies between 3 and 5 months old. Puppies require DHPP (distemper-parvo) vaccinations.
The Beginner Class is open to dogs at least 5 months old. Puppies require DHPP (distemper-parvo) vaccinations. Dogs over 6 months old require rabies and DHPP.
What is the minimum age children need to be to handle a dog in an obedience class?
Children who handle a dog in an obedience class must be 12 years or older and capable of maintaining good control of the dog at all times. To discuss further please contact us at: Registration or 408-806-3059
Can a dog in season attend class?
A dog in season may not attend Beginner class. A dog in season may attend other classes at the instructor's discretion as long as the dog wears panties. The handler may choose instead to attend the class as an observer without their dog.
What shots are required?
Puppies require DHPP (distemper-parvo) vaccinations.
Dogs over 6 months require rabies and DHPP.
I registered for the 6PM Beginner class but would rather attend the 7PM Beginner class. Can I switch?
You may be able to switch classes - if there is space in the class you wish to join and both trainers agree. We will do our best to help you; however, please select your classes carefully when registering. If you realize that you need to switch classes, please consult the desk team for assistance.
What is SCDTC's refund policy?
SCDTC does not offer refunds to students who miss classes, nor are we able to pro-rate students who join the session currently in progress.

However, sometimes the unexpected happens. In the rare case that you are not able to attend the class session after you register, we may be able to move you to a future session.
